Why do you practice yoga?
Let that thought sit with you for a moment.
Why do you practice yoga?
I sit here. On the mat. And feel awareness in my body. I feel my slow breath. It comes, it goes. Taking in the energy from around me, drifting effortlessly through my body, and then releasing. This breath fills me with life.
I sit here. On the mat. And I feel grounded. Grounding through my bones, through my muscles, pulling me through the floor and becoming one with the Earth. I am so much more than this body. I am grounded.
I sit here. On the mat. And I am aware. I am calm. I am positive. My mind feels relaxed. Worries melt away, thoughts slow. There is no tomorrow, no yesterday just the NOW.
Why do I practice yoga? Because I sit here. On the mat. And I feel awareness in my body. And I feel grounded. And I am mindful. Yoga brings me a sense of peace, a sense of connectedness and a sense of oneness that nothing else can give me.
Yoga makes me whole.
